In the basement of his small home, in 1975, Anton (Tony) Orlitzky started to design what would become a revolutionary change to the lubrication industry: an automatic electronic lubricant dispensing unit.
When the first heard his calling, Tony was working long hours as a maintenance superintendant. His job was demanding and constantly required him to find solutions to obstacles created by the many shortcomings in the lubrication industry. Oiling and greasing machines manually was time consuming; the only automatic lubrication device he’d seen emitted hydrogen gas and was potentially explosive. He dreamed of creating a single point luber that would emit an inert gas, so as to be safe in hazardous industrial areas.
Tony took his ideas to the University of British Columbia and met with engineers to discuss how his dream could become a reality. Together, Colin Oloman, Helmut Fandrich and Tony Orlitzky discussed his vision with excitement. A scheduled 5 minute meeting became hours of brainstorming. The Mini Luber was possible!
Years of work were still required to evolve the Mini Luber from a possibility into a reality. He wanted to design a high quality product while staying cost-effective for the consumer. Trial and error continued in the basement of his home for years. Frustration was exchanged for elation as Tony kept faith in his dream and made breakthroughs in the designing process.
Finally, in 1982, the Mini Luber came onto the market. Tony continued to invent more lubrication devices as the Mini became a success. Five years after the release of the Mini, the Jumbo Luber was released. He commonly referred to the two units as his bread and butter, respectively. In 1991, the Budget Luber was introduced.
Tony Orlitzky’s dedication to his work was only one part of the man he was. Anyone who knew him would describe him as dedicated and hard working, but Tony lived for his family. Alvine Orlitzky, his wife, stood by his side through the easy times and the difficult. Together they had three children: Anton, Tania and Stephan. Joining his children’s initials, he came up with the name ATS. And so Tony was able to forever dedicate his work to his family.
Tony continued his commitment to quality while brainstorming new concepts. The market demand was becoming more diverse and a change was needed. He then developed a refillable, motor driven unit. His new unit was just as reliable as the Original series, and was received with eagerness by consumers.
Sadly, in 2006 Tony Orlitzky passed away. His company now continues under the direction of his family. In carrying on his legacy, his son, Stephan has created a complete new line of products based on his father’s strong design. We have rounded out the product line so that we now have single point, multi point, and refillable units that come in varying sizes. The Ultimate series, the Titan series and, our newest product, the Jack Luber are all new additions to the ATS product line.
ATS Electro-Lube will continue to adapt to market demands and expand our product line with the same dedication to quality as we always have. You can depend on our family to sell you only top-of-the-line, versatile, automatic lubrication devices for your every application.
